Choosing the right gym -2

Are you saying you don’t have to look at yourself during exercise? I would not say. Mirrors give you a unique opportunity to check the cleanliness and correctness of the exercise! Finally, with the technical equipment, I would like to list a few details that should be in order and in place: personal scales, pads (whether under you when exercising on the ground or under heavy dumbbells), stops and pins for machines and adapters (eg variously shaped bars for pulley exercises). ) are also a necessity and a sufficient number of them as well. Furthermore, mirrors on the wall, especially in front of individual positioning benches and in front of large dumbbells for squats and biceps lifts. -other gym equipment- For properly intensive training you need enough light, either natural (enough windows) or artificial (usually ceiling fluorescent). Never be afraid to ask the coach to turn off the lights! Another extremely important feature is good gym ventilation! Air conditioning is above standard, but in any case, it is also suitable! And at the end of this paragraph, I would also mention the decoration of the gym, where there should be several posters to capture the right motivation and also an information board for the publication of various local news. And I forgot about the music – but it’s probably obvious everywhere: o)

-social background- Never underestimate social background! Sufficiently large washroom with a large number of showers, all 100% hygienically clean – this must be met by the gym of your choice without exception. Furthermore, plenty of spacious and sufficiently secured wardrobes, mirror and trash can in the locker rooms, the number and level of toilets …

First of all, this includes operating hours, which must also meet your requirements. For example, most Prague gyms start in the morning between 7-9 o’clock, in the evening it ends around 22-24 o’clock. Entry price and the possibility of season tickets – in Prague 30-100CZK from one entrance, in Brno from 20CZK, through the very common 30-40CZK to 100CZK in luxury “nonsense”. It is definitely worth investing in quality here, but only if it meets the above criteria. I know several gyms that cost CZK 100 or more for one entry, but only because they are in luxury locations or five-star hotels. It seems useless to an ordinary mortal, and I would rather recommend investing that money for food than stuffing it into crazy owners. I consider the bar to be the last thing worth describing in more detail. Pleasant service is a must here.

And that’s all. At least I hope I haven’t forgotten anything important. When I started writing this article (more than 90 minutes ago), I wanted to devote just a few lines to choosing a gym and then to focus on things like suitable clothing, a sparring partner and other “basics”. But then I realized that choosing the right gym is the real basis! After all, it must be a place where you will look forward, where you will forget about your daily worries and where you will indulge in building your new great body! And for that you need a gym with a big P!

In the following articles I will focus on topics that did not get here, ie. that sparring partner and I will try to write down the basic things that you should not miss in your bag when visiting the gym. By the way, write in the rw_discussion under the article your experience with finding your current and maybe past gym! How you searched for her, what she was like, what you missed about her … Write and help your beginning colleagues in one of their most important steps for the dream character!
